After 3 months we got David Barrios postcard from El Tigre - Venezuela. “Dicen que uno dibuja lo que se parece a uno”
“They say one draw what looks like one”
We thought that mail from Mexico got lost in the way. Surprisingly yesterday the postcards finally arrived! One thing of ‘snail mail’ is that it’s very unpredictable .
From Nuevo Leon - Mexico Laiza Onofre sent two self-portraits where she writes: “‘Yo soy mi casa’. Si debo comenzar a describirme, a dibujarme, yo soy un retrato psicologico de mi casa. Mi memoria, mis experiencias y mis raices. Casa, soy yo y mi amor por las cosas. ♥”
“I‘m my house’. If I have to start to describe myself, to draw me, I am a psychological portrait of my house .My memory, my experiences and my roots. House, it’s me and the love for things. ♥”

“…The self portrait art I mailing to you is from the students of the Strategic Learning and Special Education Institute located at Trincity. Under the direction of Mrs. Susan De Freitas the children at the school are taught at the DIR method of learning and interaction because they are mainly autistic…
…This was both, a fun and a challenging experience for them. Many of the students were unable to make significant relation to who they are or how they perceived themselves. The exercise however proved successful as the ones I mailed to you, were able to comprehend the task”…

“Hi, my name is Garcia Forbes. I’m 21 years old. I’m from Jamaica. Like the colours in this piece I’m bold and my will power intensifies with a growing challenge. I am of Maroon linage which is represented in the form of two Adinkra symbols around the figure. SESA SUBA which is transformation. NEA ONNIM SO SUA A OHU, which means lite long learning.
I want to be remembered that way, even in the future. I want to be remembered as ever growing, as a seeker of knowledge. Never stagnant . Always DRIVEN”.
